Dermal fillers are a multi-functioning treatment and can be used to reduce deep, medium and superficial lines and wrinkles, fill hollows and smooth the contours, as well as adding or restoring volume to areas of the face such as lips, cheeks and temples. The eyes are often the first place to really be affected by the signs of ageing. The tear trough is the area beneath the eye and the upper cheek, as we age  the area loses volume and the skin becomes thinner and starts to droop. This results in the tear trough becoming deeper and darker in appearance and eye bags can start to appear.

What is Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler

What is Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler?

Dermal Fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid, a type of sugar that naturally occurs in our skin to help repair damaged tissue. Its normal liquid state is transformed into a gel injection to help plump out troublesome lines and bind with collagen, allowing nutrients to flow easily to the skin.

We use only the highest quality FDA approved dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Teosyal, Redensity, that are derived from the hyaluronic acid (HA), found naturally in our skin.

The Dermal Filler products that we use are amongst the most scientifically documented in the world, with comprehensive research studies that support their safety and efficacy. Dermal fillers provide support to sagging aged skin and naturally replace lost volume restoring a youthful freshness.

Effects are achieved instantly. Once completed the Dermal Filler may last for between 6-18 months depending on the product used and the area injected.

As every client’s skin and required goals are unique, a detailed consultation with Dr Natalia Hancock is essential prior to undergoing any advanced non-surgical treatment. During the consultation your Aesthetic Nurse will discuss any problem areas, desired improvements, options available (including no treatment at all) and expected outcomes. Should Dermal Fillers be agreed upon as the most suitable treatment, the skin will be thoroughly cleansed and the treatment area will be anaesthetised using either an appropriate topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) or a dental nerve block to ensure discomfort is completely minimal. Once the treatment area is anaesthetised, the Filler will be injected under the surface of the skin using an ultra-fine needle, before being gently massaged. The treatment itself usually takes around 30 to 40 minutes, with an additional 30 minutes allowed prior to treatment for the anaesthetic to take effect.

The results of Dermal Filler treatment are visible instantly after treatment. Wrinkles and folds at the treatment site will appear dramatically reduced, with skin firmer and more youthful looking. In the case of lip enhancement, lips will be defined and plumper, with fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth area also smoothed. By restoring lost volume your skin will look smoother and softer, giving you a fresher more youthful glow.

As the treatment area is numbed prior to treatment and the needle used to inject the Dermal Fillers is ultra-fine, most people find the treatment is only mildly uncomfortable, with many clients reporting barely feeling the injections.

Immediately after undergoing a Dermal Filler procedure, the treatment area may be slightly red and/or slightly swollen, however normal activities may be resumed immediately; indeed it is possible to have this treatment in a lunch break and return straight back to work.

Side effects are rare and are mostly injection related rather than due to the product. Side effects can include possible localized bruising, swelling, redness, itching, pain and discoloration at the injection site. Such complications generally disappear within a few days. Thorough cleansing of the skin prior to treatment and careful placement of each of the injections helps us to ensure these risks are as minimal as possible.

As a guide treatments start from £220 depending on your individual requirements and brand of products used which will be discussed during your Free consultation.
