Perfect Peel

Perfect Peel is a medical grade chemical peel is a facial skin treatment to deeply exfoliate the skin, renewing the skin’s surface to leave it looking fresher, healthier and more radiant.

Perfect Peel to Exfoliate and Brighten the Skin

A fantastic way to rejuvenate your skin, to leave it softer, youthful and positively glowing, with no side effects associated with other, more invasive surgeries.

A chemical peel treatment takes the power of naturally occurring acids and other active ingredients to thoroughly exfoliate and brighten the skin.  The chemical treatment helps to stimulate new cell growth as well as boosting collagen production, to help reveal a clearer, brighter look.  Here at Skintique, we offer AlumierMD peel treatments, known in the industry as the next generation of clinical exfoliation treatments!

Brighter Skin

Removal of dead skin cells

Even texture

Reduced appearance of fine lines

Hydrated skin

A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve skin texture and tone. An acid is applied to the skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, including exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion.

Chemical peels have been used dating back to Ancient Egypt, according to some sources, Cleopatra used sour milk to improve the appearance of her skin.

Chemical Peel Treatment Expectations
Beautiful skin doesn’t happen overnight, and treatments take time to show results. A single chemical peel can provide the immediate effect of bright and radiant skin; however, more significant results in treating textural issues, fine lines and inflamed acne could take up to eight weeks.

Using homecare products consistently and as directed to achieve optimal results. Just as you take time to exercise, you need to take time for your “daily skin care workout regime”.

The Perfect Peel is a revolutionary peel that will transform your skin into looking younger, healthier and clearer in just one week. The Perfect Peel can be used on all skin types and requires no pre-peel skin preparation. The process takes less than 15 minutes and is virtually pain free.

As we age our cell turnover slows down and our fibroblasts decrease production of collagen and elastin. Retinol and peptides are essential to reverse the signs of ageing as they are the only two ingredients proven to stimulate fibroblasts.

Every persons’ skin needs good skin care even if no pressing conditions are present. A daily broad spectrum sunscreen, antioxidant and gentle exfoliation will maintain a beautiful complexion and delay the signs of ageing.

This peel should only be carried by a medically trained professional.

The Perfect Peel combines intense ingredients with effective acids to deliver outstanding results after one treatment. This unique formula allows for an increase in lifting of fine lines and wrinkles as well as a lightening of Melasma, sun damage and Hyperpigmentation. The Perfect Peel is a non-invasive relatively pain free treatment that entails only 5-7 days of peeling.

After one treatment of The Perfect Peel, overall skin tone and complexion will appear smooth, glowing and fresh. Depending on skin conditions, multiple treatments may be necessary for desired results. A series of 2-3 treatments applied once every 4 weeks will allow for optimal results for more severe skin conditions such as Melasma and active acne.

As long as the skin is maintained with good quality skin care products such as The Perfect C serum the improved results will last. We recommend two to three treatments of The Perfect Peel per year to sustain desired results for regular maintenance and rejuvenation.

All skin types (Fitzpatrick 1-6) are safe to treat and will rev eal considerable improvements from The Perfect Peel.

The Perfect Peel requires no preconditioning of the skin prior to treatment. Only those patients who use Accutane must stop usage 6 months prior to treatment in order to achieve desired results.

The patient may feel a slight stinging or tingling sensation which will subside after just a few seconds. Numbing takes place once the first pass of The Perfect Peel solution is applied. A fan or cool breeze may be used for the comfort of the patient.

The Perfect Peel application only takes 15 minutes to administer.

The amount of peeling skin associated with The Perfect Peel is mainly a sloughing of thin sheets of epidermis skin that begins around day three and generally is completed by day six or seven.

Immediately after the peel has been applied the skin will either appear red, like a sunburn, or darker. On day three peeling will begin. The Perfect Peel home care moisturiser (included with each peel) will reduce the visibility of peeling by hydrating. By day six or seven the peeling process should be complete and the results are visibly astonishing.

Normal activities may be resumed immediately post peel. We only recommend avoiding heavy exercise and excessive sweating during the peeling process.

The day the peel is applied the patient should not put any make up or other products on his or her face post peel. Makeup may be worn on day 2 of the peeling process.

The Perfect Peel may be applied initially every four weeks if necessary until the desired results are achieved. Thereafter, we recommend once every 3-4 months to maintain improved skin results, as well as, prevent further aging and environmental damage.

The face, neck, chest and hands are the most commonly applied areas. The Perfect Peel can be applied to other areas of the body, but the process and the results will not necessarily be the same.

The Perfect Peel formula was designed to help improve various problematic skin conditions. Acne is a major factor in what this treatment is tailored to resolve. The Perfect Peel helps minimise the damage and scarring done by acne. The Glutathione helps increase cellular turnover to dramatically improve stubborn acne scars. A series of peels will be necessary to diminish the damage and scarring.

Depending on the severity of the scarring and how deep, a series of 3-4 peels every four weeks will be needed for optimum results. The number of treatments will also depend on how vigorous the layers are applied.

The Perfect Peel will help erase fine lines and wrinkles, reduce enlarged pores, help build collagen and elastin which will help to tighten and firm the skin. In addition, it will reduce or even eliminate Hyperpigmentation and Melasma. Acne and acne scars are dramatically improved. The treatment fights free radical damage to remove discoloration due to sun damage and even out overall skin tone and complexion.

Skin will be more sensitive during the peeling process until the PH level is replenished.

Sun exposure should be limited if not avoided before and during the peel process to avoid uneven exposure.

Ideally we advise  2- 4 weeks out of the sun. A high SPF must be used post treatment.

3-4 weeks after recovery (once the entire peel process is complete).

Skin peels are best performed after several weeks of preparation particularly for our deeper peels and especially so if you are skin type 4-6. Pretreatment with skincare products prepares the skin for the peel and stops the peel burning and causing hyper pigmentation. The length of preparation recommended depends on your skin type and concerns.

When you and your skin are ready for a peel the area is cleansed thoroughly with a pretreatment antiseptic, the peel is applied and after acting it is removed and deactivated. Post procedure a good spf must be worn. We recommend our Alumier SPF’s.

Skin peels do feel itchy and may sting the skin on application. Ideally they are left on the skin for 5 minutes but you must tell your doctor if it feels too strong for you. Pre procedure skincare specifically recommended for your skin type and with the peel in mind should be used for best results.

Treatment areas

Treatment is a safe and effective way of refreshing and rejuvenating the skin as well as treating fine lines, texture, tone and wrinkles.

Any area of skin can be suitable for a peel from the face and back to the décolletage and neck. Arms and legs too, especially if there are scars and pigmentation problems.

Pre-treatment is essential in order to prevent the peel burning and causing damage to the skin. In some clients a good medical skin care regimen is better than a peel.

At Skintique Clinic we like to assess your skin thoroughly. Your journey will have started with a Visia consultation and we will use this amazing technology to track your skins progress. Before going ahead with a peel you are likely to be started on a pre peel treatment. Preparation of your skin is vital to allow desensitisation and ensure your skin peel does not damage your skin.

Most patients can undergo a peel without any side effects. The treated skin is virtually normal in appearance. On rare occasions a patient may experience mild sloughing, weeping or scabbing. Some redness is temporary and normal. Redness may be covered with makeup.

If scabs are picked, scarring may occur or areas of hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation may result.

Side effects are minimal if any. Your skin may sting and look flushed or red.

Deeper peels cause crusting and peeling of the skin. This is normal and part of the peel process.

They are not suitable for irritated skin or if the skin has been laser resurface treatment within the last 6 weeks, if you are suffering from a viral infection or have used roaccutane in the last 6 months. Roaccutane thin’s the skin whilst drying out the oil in the skin and makes it more likely to be damaged.

It is essential to use a good quality SPF sun protection after skin peels.

Do not touch, rub or massage the area or apply makeup for at least 6 hours.

Your skin may sting or burn with some flushing or redness for 2-4 hours after a peel.

You must apply strong SPF (greater than SPF30) sun cream and can use a moisturizer, SPF is essential to avoid post procedure hyperpigmentation.

SPF is ESSENTIAL. We recommend using AlumierMD homecare if you are having AlumierMD peels.

For the next few days

It may feel tighter and may feel warm to touch; this may last for 2-4 days.

Eperdermolysis (whitening) and peeling may occur and could last up to 3 weeks. Depending on the peel strength and tolerance.

Do not put on normal make up until healed. Mineral make up may be applied.

Your skin specialist will recommend an Alumier MD homecare program for you to follow for best results.

It is advised to avoid sun, tanning and other cosmetic treatments and wait 2-4 weeks before fillers and injectable wrinkle treatments.

Your first step is a no-obligation consultation at Skintique Clinic. Your appointment will be booked with Dr Natalia Hancock.

After taking a full medical history, your practitioner will discuss the treatment and your expectations with you. You will also be provided with detailed information on the procedure and the likely outcomes. Should you wish to go ahead with the treatment after a cooling-off period, another appointment will be made with Dr Hancock who will carry out the treatment.

On arrival for your treatment, you will be asked to check over your medical history form to confirm that nothing has changed. You will be then asked to complete a treatment consent form.

The procedure requires several tiny injections in the areas you would like improving. Pain is considered to be minimal and no anaesthesia is needed, though ice may be used to numb the area before and after your treatment. This is a simple and quick process lasting approximately 20 minutes, but no longer than 30 minutes. It involves no downtime, so there is no disruption to your lifestyle. You can resume normal activities straight after your treatment.

You will be invited back into the clinic for review two weeks after your procedure, as this is how long is required for the full effect. This is to ensure you are fully happy with your results. If required, adjustments can be made during this appointment

After your review, our team will arrange your next appointment.

Before and after of this treatment

A skin peel treatment can suit a wide range of skin types as well as address several skin care concerns, such as acne scarring, rosacea, aging and hyperpigmentation.  Your skin care professional here at Skintique can help you to select the ideal chemical peel treatment to suit your skin and your requirements, to customise your treatment to target your own concerns.

We use a combination of highly exfoliating peel treatments, alongside brightening and prescriptive serums to reveal super soft, radiant and glowing skin.  The peel treatment involves applying carefully selected non-toxic chemical solutions to the skin which gently but thoroughly removes the very top layer of dead skin cells.  This encourages new cells to grow, helping to reveal smoother and brighter skin underneath.

The Perfect Peel founds itself on a key anti-aging ingredient never before used in a peel: Glutathione. Glutathione is the ultimate antioxidant, penetrating deep into the cellular level of the skin to fight oxidant damage and is the anti-aging answer to premature wrinkling. Our bodies naturally produce glutathione but as we age, our levels deplete due to sun exposure, air pollutants, environmental stress and the aging process itself. Glutathione is also proven to reverse melanin’s metabolism, lightening dark pigmentations.

The Perfect Peel blends glutathione, kojic acid, TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and a blend of minerals and vitamins, including vitamin C. Kojic acid is a powerful lightening agent and proven to increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in skin that is brighter and tighter. TCA, phenol and retinoic acid reduce wrinkles and correct pigment problems, while salicylic acid exfoliates the skin and reduces inflammation. Alone the ingredients are powerful, but in combination they produce results that are astonishing.

To follow The Perfect Peel, you are given an individual home treatment pack. This pack contains retinol wipes and a vitamin C moisturiser to assist the peeling process and enhance your results.
