Giving you back a more youthful look

We are proud to offer a diverse range of revitalising procedures and anti-wrinkle treatments – all of which are leading, clinically-proven, effective and subtle in their application.

It is incredibly important to us here at Skintique to seek the most appropriate anti-wrinkle treatments for our patients, and we work to ensure these methods complement their own distinctive facial features – no two faces are the same.

The years leave a lifetime of living etched onto our faces. A few laughter lines may help remind us of happy times, but as we age  there is a slowing in the skin’s ability to renew and repair itself. When the skin is creased in areas of maximum use, these lines eventually become permanent, and without treatment, can leave us looking tired and aged. Our anti-wrinkle injections are extremely effective in reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles to leave you feeling more confident.

The medication used in anti wrinkle injections has been used widely across the UK since 1977 in hospital based treatments as migraines, excess sweating, spasticity in medical conditions like cerebral palsy and many surgical procedures.

Anti-wrinkle treatments may benefit anyone wishing to smooth fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck.

We will always discuss your medical history during your consultation to make sure the treatment is safe for you.

Treatment is not suitable if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you are undergoing IVF treatment.

Anti-wrinkle treatments are also not advised for:

People with neuromuscular disorders eg. myasthenia gravis.

People taking certain muscle relaxants and antibodies eg. aminoglycosides.

Infection or inflammation at the proposed site of injection.

Bleeding disorders.

The injected product relaxes specific facial muscles that cause unwanted lines. It does this by blocking nerve signals to the muscle, to prevent it contracting. This causes a long-term reduction in the appearance of unwanted lines and wrinkles.

Common areas include the frown, forehead and crow’s feet areas. Once treated, the lines are smoothed away to create a more youthful appearance. A brow lift, jaw smoothing, neck lift, downturned mouth and gummy smile lines can also be treated.

As every client’s skin and required goals are unique, a bespoke consultation is essential prior to undergoing any advanced non-surgical treatment. During the consultation, we will discuss any problem areas, desired improvements, options available (including no treatment at all) and expected outcomes.

Should Anti-Wrinkle treatments be agreed upon as the most suitable treatment, tiny amounts of the product will be injected directly into the muscles that are responsible for contraction using an ultra-fine needle.

The injections are virtually painless, therefore require no anaesthetic.

These are completed within a matter of minutes.

The needle used to inject the product is ultra-fine, so the treatment is virtually painless and therefore requires no anaesthetic. In fact, most clients report hardly feeling the injections at all.

With Botox, there is no downtime. In fact, it is possible to have this treatment in a lunch break and return straight back to work.

The risk of side effects is minimal. However, as with any injectable treatment, some clients may experience mild localised bruising, redness or swelling at the injection site.

Thorough cleansing of the skin prior to treatment and careful placement of the injections by a skilled practitioner helps to ensure these risks are as minimal as possible.

Treatment is gently placed through a fine sterile needle into the facial muscle of expression.

Treatment can cause mild discomfort over a few seconds.

Effects can be seen within 3 days and the complete effect in 2 weeks.

Treatment lasts for 2-6 months. The effects last longer with progressive treatments.

Your comfort levels and expectations are important factors which are considered in your consultation.

Your final results depend on your skin condition in the treatment area, any pre-existing medical conditions, your desired results, the general condition of your skin and healing capability.

Your first step is a no-obligation consultation at Skintique Clinic. Your appointment will be booked with Dr Natalia Hancock.

After taking a full medical history, Dr Natalia Hancock will discuss the treatment and your expectations with you. You will also be provided with detailed information on the procedure and the likely outcomes. Should you wish to go ahead with the treatment after a cooling-off period, another appointment will be made with Dr Hancock.

On arrival for your treatment, you will be asked to check over your medical history form to confirm that nothing has changed. You will be then asked to complete a treatment consent form.

The procedure requires several tiny injections in the areas you would like improving. Pain is considered to be minimal and no anaesthesia is needed, though ice may be used to numb the area before and after your treatment. This is a simple and quick process lasting approximately 20 minutes, but no longer than 30 minutes. It involves no downtime, so there is no disruption to your lifestyle. You can resume normal activities straight after your treatment.

You will be invited back into the clinic for review two weeks after your procedure, as this is how long is required for the full effect. This is to ensure you are fully happy with your results. If required, adjustments can be made during this appointment

After your review, our team will arrange your next appointment in 3 months’ time.
