Dermal Fillers

With Dr Natalia Hancock

Long-lasting non-permanent treatment to restore facial volume loss

A quick, minimally invasive procedure with little downtime.

As we age we are not able to create as much hyaluronic acid or collagen as our body needs. The gradual reduction in both, as well as changes in fat within the complex structure of our faces, results in changes to facial volume and volume loss, decreases in hydration and elasticity as well as an increase in skin laxity

Lines and wrinkles and hollows appear as the volume is lost and jowls and superficial fat deposits appear when the underlying structure can not longer support the upper layer.
Dermal fillers are a multi-functioning treatment and can be used to reduce deep, medium and superficial lines and wrinkles, fill hollows and smooth the contours, as well as adding or restoring volume to areas of the face such as lips, cheeks and temples.

The eyes are often the first place to really be affected by the signs of ageing. The tear trough is the area beneath the eye and the upper cheek, as we age the area loses volume and the skin becomes thinner and starts to droop.

This results in the tear trough becoming deeper and darker in appearance and eye bags start to appear.

Introduction to Dermal Filler treatment

Dermal fillers contain an injectable form of hyaluronic acid in a clear gel. This substance occurs in the body naturally, but depletes as we age.

Dermal fillers have multiple effects. For example, they can be used to:

  • Reduce superficial, medium and deep lines or wrinkles
  • Fill hollows
  • Smooth contours
  • Add or restore volume to areas of the face such as lips, cheeks and temples.

Typical areas of treatment

The eyes are often the first place to be most affected by the signs of ageing.
The tear trough is the area beneath the eye and the upper cheek. As we age, the area loses volume, so the skin becomes thinner and starts to droop. This results in the tear trough becoming deeper and darker in appearance, leading to eye bags.

The lips. What else?

Safe and in compliance with European and FDA standards

Focused and targeted to delivery precise results.

There is minimal downtime/healing time or risk of complication when performed by a Health care professional.

The results are long-lasting, but non-permanent. Dermal fillers are naturally broken down by the body over 6-18 months, with both the fillers and their effects gradually fading away.

No Obligation Consultation

Your first step is a no-obligation Visia consultation at Skintique Clinic with one of our skin specialists.

Meeting your Practitioner and the Consultation

Meeting your practitioner for your one-to-one consultation. This will include:
• A full assessment your skin, concerns and desired results.
• Details about the procedure, likely outcomes and costs.

After taking a full medical history and reviewing your Visia Gen8 images your practitioner will discuss the range of treatments available at Skintique Clinic for your skin concerns. Your practitioner will design a bespoke plan with you based on your expectations. You will also be provided with detailed information on the procedures, the likely outcomes and the approximate timescales. Should you then wish to go ahead with the treatments a future appointment will be made.

Treatment

On arrival for your treatment, you will be asked to check over your medical history form to confirm that nothing has changed. You will be then asked to complete a treatment consent form.
The treatment can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or more depending on the treatment.

Results Review

Many of our treatments are progressive and require a course of treatment for the optimal result. Some conditions will need maintenance treatments to maintain the final result. Your practitioner will indicate the approximate number of treatments with you at the start. But as everyone is different this can only be used as an approximate guide and not as a guarantee.

The skin cycle on a health individual who has regular treatments is approximately 6 weeks.

Next Appointment

Our team will arrange your next appointment before you leave the clinic.

Dermal Filler Price guide

Frequently asked questions

Is this treatment Suitable for me?

Dermal fillers address a wide range of concerns such as the lips, chin, jaw, cheeks, forehead and nose, and are ideal for dealing with specific issues such as loss of volume, deep lines, tear troughs, and jowls.

We discuss your full medical history at your consultation. The treatment is safe for most people, though we would ask you to postpone treatment if you were pregnant or breastfeeding. Treatment may not suitable if you are having immune therapy or undergoing cancer treatment.

How does the treatment work?

Fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a clear, non-animal based gel. This is injected under the skin to bind water, and encourage collagen to regrow. The filler is injected through a fine sterile needle or cannula into the area where volume loss has occurred, which smooths wrinkle lines and volume loss.

How is the treatment performed?

As every client’s skin and required goals are unique, a bespoke consultation with Dr Natalia Hancock is essential prior to undergoing any advanced non-surgical treatment. During the consultation, Dr Hancock will discuss any problem areas, desired improvements, options available (including no treatment at all) and expected outcomes.

Should dermal fillers be agreed upon as the most suitable treatment, the skin will be thoroughly cleansed and the treatment area will be anaesthetised using either an appropriate topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) or a dental nerve block to ensure discomfort is completely minimal.

Once the treatment area is anaesthetised, the filler will be injected under the surface of the skin using an ultra-fine needle, before being gently massaged. The treatment itself usually takes around 30 to 40 minutes, with an additional 30 minutes allowed prior to treatment for the anaesthetic to take effect.

How does the treatment feel?

As the treatment area is numbed prior to treatment and the needle used to inject the dermal fillers is ultra-fine, most people find the treatment is only mildly uncomfortable. Many clients report barely feeling the injections, and any unpleasant sensation disappears very quickly.

Is there any healing time?

Immediately after a dermal filler procedure, the treatment area may be slightly red and/or slightly swollen. However, normal activities may be resumed immediately. In fact, it is possible to have this treatment in a lunch break and return straight back to work.

Occasionally there will be mild bruising and swelling which can take up to 10 days to resolve naturally.
